Everything started in 1878 when the first “Fabbrica occhiali” of the so-called “Eyewear district” was founded. The “Eyewear district” is an area located in the North-East of Italy from where 80% of revenues of the Italian eyewear industry come from.

Maria Pramaor worked there as one of the first Luxottica employers. In 1971, Maria opened in the small town of Agordo her own frame-making workshop.
In 1990 Maria and her husband Primo started to produce titanium eyewear with Japanese technologies.
Over the years, the company evolved and developed a strong personality. Under the guidance of Maria and Primo’s son, Nicola, and thanks to the expertise of Giovanni Recchia, in 2008 the brand Blackfin was officially born.

The Place Blackfin was born in Agordo and the Dolomites truly represent its identity: the beautiful landscapes, the authentic colors of the horizon and the quiet and clear lines of the
mountains have a lot in common with the eyewear designs of this unique brand.
