Carrera is one of the most popular brands of sunglasses in the world. It was founded in Austria in 1956 by Wilhelm Anger, who was inspired by the Carrera Panamericana motorcar race across Mexico. Carrera’s focus was on sports eyewear, ski goggles and helmets, it later moved into lifestyle eyewear and created its success thanks to its vintage style. Nowadays it maintains this double soul: Sport and Lifestyle/vintage. Throughout its 50 years of history Carrera sponsored several global events like Formula 1 Racing, The Americas Cup and the Winter Olympics and its vintage styles are worn by all major celebrities: Brad Pit, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and many others.
