1. Rome, 1925. Fendi luxury brand was founded by Adele and Edoardo Fendi. At the beginning, Fendi was a fur and leather shop. Over the years the brand grew and it became famous especially for its handbags: the Baguette, the Mon Tresor and the Peekaboo. Since then, Fendi has become synonymous with style.

2. 1965. A young Karl Lagerfield became the artistic director of the brand and he introduced the double-F “Zucca” logo, another distinguished signature element of the brand. According to legend, Karl designed the logo just in a few minutes during his first meeting with the Fendi sisters. Surely he did not expect to create something that would become so iconic.

3. The iconic Fendi Baguette was created by Silvia Venturini Fendi. At that time purses used to be large and spacious while the new Fendi baguette was small and carried on a short strap. The model became popular thanks to the TV series Sex and the city. In one episode, the protagonist, Carrie Bradshaw, gets mugged; when the robber asks for her “bag”, Carrie replies “it’s a Baguette”.

Karl used to say “Fendi is my Roman side” and actually we can still see that the brand has not lost its deep connection with the timeless beauty of Rome. In 2019 Fendi paid tribute to Karl Lagerfeld with a magnificent fashion show set in the middle of the ruins of ancient Rome.
